GENERAL EXCELLENCE
Criteria: Clarity of expression, compelling writing, ability to engage readers, effective and attractive design, user-friendliness, breadth of information, timeliness, appropriate use of photos and/or illustrations. Overall quality of publication and appropriateness for audience, including content and coverage, writing and editing, typography, format and design.
All General Excellence submissions will be submitted online this year.
- General Excellence: Newspaper (three issues should be submitted)
A publication that is issued regularly and usually printed in a tabloid style on newsprint. Newspapers include current original news articles, columns, and feature articles. (three issues should be submitted for this category) - General Excellence: Magazine/Periodical (three issues should be submitted)
A periodical containing a collection of articles, stories, pictures, or other features (may include advertising). The publication is usually formatted with a centerfold and may be bound. Circulation ranges from national to local. (three issues should be submitted for this category) - General Excellence: Newsletter/E-Newsletter (three issues should be submitted)
A print or electronic publication that contains brief news and reports, announcements and other special interest information for a particular audience. (three issues should be submitted for this category) - General Excellence: Website
This category will consider design, writing, navigation, user-friendliness, breadth of information, timeliness, interactivity with users, and multimedia applications. - General Excellence: Blog
This category will consider writing, timeliness, theme, content, and curation. - General Excellence: Multimedia
Media project that incorporates a variety of content forms including print, video, blog, photos, audio, etc. - General Excellence: Social Media
Innovative use of social networking tools for communication, promotional outreach, audience development, etc.
